M77 - Spiral Galaxy
M77 is a Sb-type Spiral Galaxy in the constellation Cetus. Its distance is estimated to be about 60 million light years. More information about this galaxy can be found at The Messier Index - M77. This image was captured on 5 November 1999 and is a composite of 82 fifteen-second exposures. The white component of this image is shown below. Of note, this image captured faint outer spiral structure that extends to the edges of the field of view along with several faint background galaxies above and to the left of M77.
