Western hemisphere of the Moon taken at the prime focus of a 16" f/4.5
Newtonian telescope. The large dark patch or sea at the bottom of this
image is Mare Serenetatis or the Sea of Serenity. The dark
patch just above and to the left of this is Mare Tranquillitatus or the Sea
of Tranquility. Apollo 17 landed very near to where these two "seas"
connect.
