M17 - The Omega
Nebula
The Omega Nebula (M17) is located in the constellation
Sagittarius.
It's also known as the Swan Nebula, the Horshoe Nebula and the Lobster
Nebula. It is an area of recent or continuing star formation located
approximately 5000-6000 light years away. More information about this

Nebulae - M17. The image is a 30-minute exposure at the prime
focus of a 16" f/4.5 Newtonian using hypered Fuji 800 film taken on 31 July
1997.
